Our aim is to provide effective, quality, multi-disciplinary paediatric (0-18 years of age) therapy services to clients, families, child support services and contract organisations within the South East of SA, Limestone Coast and Western Victoria.
Working in a multidisciplinary team, we pride ourselves on being family centered, culturally responsive practices. We have an inclusive and participatory focus, using natural environments and whole family participation to support best quality, evidence based, therapy outcomes. We work with families to adapt activities and environments, to help each child achieve their goals and reach their potential. We see each child as a part of the team and recognise that parents and carers are an important barometer of successful therapy programs.
1 Stop Health was formed in 2008 by Directors Sue Charlton (Titled Paediatric Physiotherapist) and Tania Thompson (Occupational Therapist) to create an organisation to support multi-disciplinary, individual therapies with the ability to access government health funding programs. The organization is based on a consortium model with rental, reception and administrative fees being collected from members for these services. A multi-disciplinary allied health team approach is generated by the consortium model, with types and intensity of allied health services offered, varying over the history of the organisation.
Initially, Paediatric Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Speech Pathology services formed the consortium. Current members include Paediatric Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (2 businesses). Visiting specialist continue to utilise the rooms and provide services on an adhoc basis, including Psychology, Music Therapy, Art Therapy and Ultrasonography.
Community meetings, health forums and health support groups utilise the facilities on an as needs basis. Health education sessions such as child development, sleep, school readiness and play options are provided by the consortium members, along with specialised clinics such as walk-in hip checks, posture and mobility. 1 Stop Health trades as 1 Stop Paediatric Services and continues to evolve to meet the SE Region of SA / Western Victoria, private, paediatric therapy needs. 1 Stop Health is well known within the SE region, with strong networks to health, service and community services / populations.
We continue to collaborate with health services to meet regional health needs.
